Dementia and Pan-disability Sessions for Licensed Drivers

Wednesday 29 January 2025
Time: 17:30
18:30
Jim Cooke Suite

Dementia Friends Information Sessions are part of the Alzheimer's Society's Dementia Friends programme, the biggest ever initiative to change people's perceptions of dementia. Aiming to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition. Transport is as often an issue undermining people's confidence leaving their homes, stopping them getting out to meet friends and using local services. We want to make transport more accessible to people with dementia and their carers so they have the confidence to travel and live a full life with dementia. The Dementia Friends Information session will give drivers some empowerment and confidence in dealing with their service users especially when difficult and challenging situations arise. Giving a sense of comfort and security to those living with dementia and their families when getting out and about.
