Reframing Autism: Invoking a Paradigm Shift in the Autism Narrative

SEND and Vulnerable V tag

Event Overview:

Join us for a transformative day with Kieran Rose, where we will challenge mainstream perceptions of autism and delve into the complexities of Autistic experiences.

This event will:

  • deconstruct common perceptions of autism
  • reflect on societal views and their impact on Autistic lives
  • explore the intersectionality within Autistic experiences
  • examine Autistic attentional styles, sensory processes, behavior, communication, emotional processing, and social motivations
  • discuss co-occurring conditions and the effects of stigma-driven trauma, alexithymia, autistic masking, and burnout on mental health

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of Autistic experiences and the concept of Neurodiversity. Educators will be equipped with tools to better identify, understand, and validate the needs of Autistic children and young people (CYP). This training encourages critical reflection on current educational and interventional practices.
