Attendance Network

Our mission is to enhance student attendance and engagement across schools, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed. We collaborate with educators, parents, and communities to develop innovative strategies and share best practices for improving attendance rates.

What We Do

Research and Data Analysis

We conduct comprehensive studies to understand the root causes of absenteeism and identify effective interventions.

Professional Development

Offering training and resources for teachers and administrators to implement attendance improvement strategies.

Community Engagement

Partnering with local organisations to support families and address barriers to regular school attendance.

Policy Advocacy

Working with policymakers to create supportive environments that promote consistent school attendance.

Addressing the Needs and Reasons Behind Attendance

We recognise that students may face various challenges that impact their ability to attend school regularly. Our network focuses on understanding and addressing these needs, whether they are related to health, family circumstances, or socio-economic factors. By identifying and mitigating these barriers, we aim to create a supportive environment for all students.

Why Attendance Matters

Regular school attendance is crucial for academic success and personal development. It helps students build a strong foundation of knowledge, develop social skills, and establish positive habits for the future. Consistent attendance also ensures that students do not miss out on critical learning opportunities and are better prepared for higher education and career success.

DFES Guidelines

The Department for Education (DfE) provides comprehensive guidelines to help schools, trusts, governing bodies, and local authorities maintain high levels of school attendance. These guidelines outline the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders, including parents and carers, and emphasize the importance of early intervention and support for students who are persistently or severely absent. The DfE also highlights the legal interventions available when attendance support is not effective or engaged with.

Strengthening Partnerships and Collaboration

Our network is dedicated to strengthening working partnerships and collaboration to achieve our mission of putting children and young people at the heart of everything we do. By fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders, we ensure that our efforts are aligned and effective in promoting student attendance and success.

Join us to become a part of our network and contribute to creating a brighter future for students. Together, we can make a difference.
